Gibbstown Fire Company

Wednesday, April 20, 2016 Rescue 2118 was special called into Woolwich twp this morning for a commercial vehicle fire. Command requested the rescue for it's cascade (a system to refill firefighter air bottles). Upon arrival FF Durham set up the cascade and began filling bottles. The other crew members assisted in extinguishing the remaining fire. Crews used ladder 2316 to cut a hole in the roof of the trailer and attacking the from the air. Because of the amount of freight in the trailer it was the best option to overturn the trailer and remove the roof to gain access. A backhoe was used to empty the trailer and spread the contents out to be fully extinguished. Crews were on scene for about a hour and a half before being released by command.
